The concept behind Ability-X Stickouts is a simple one. They are horses that stickout in ability for today's race in relation to the ML favorite.

A horse other then the ML favorite may stickout for value, early speed, or overall ability in comparison to the ML favorite. Or any combination of these factors.

The ML favorite is taken as the logical choice by general handicapping criteria, and therefore, the horse to beat.

With the knowledge of that being generally correct, we know that another horse of similar or better ability for today's race will likely do well, with good chances to beat the favorite.

 Horses that stickout quite a bit in comparison to the favorite are highlighted in red. Horses that stickout a little bit are highlighted in orange.

In the absence of other stickouts, the favorite may be the only stickout. They are highlighted in blue.

When they stickout a bit by their ability fitting todays race well, the favorite's number will be highlighted in orange.

With longer odds stickouts, toteboard activity can be very noteworthy.

Ability-X Stickouts is an overlay of the handicapped perspective from the perspective of ability.

 A very high percentage of these first time starters, win and hit the board for exotics, especially when fields are weak or chaotic. For races that include a coupled entry, the program #'s may be different from the post positions listed here.
